Keel ja Kirjandus generally accepts for review articles and essays regarding specifically Estonian language, literature, folklore, and culture, written in Estonian. On rare occasions, we might consider translating a manuscript on a relevant topic for publication. If you feel your submission might be such an exception, please contact the editor-in-chief directly.

Prior to publication the article manuscripts submitted to Keel ja Kirjandus have been peer-reviewed since 2001. The journal operates a double-blind peer review process. Journal applies initial manuscript evaluation. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal.

The articles are published under the Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, which  allows reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in unadapted form only, for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator.
